How Many Practice Tests Do You Need for a 170?

Scoring a 170+ requires two things:

  1. Strong fundamentals

  2. Lots of full-length practice tests


Once you understand:

  • conditional logic

  • parts of an argument

  • question types

  • common flaws

…it’s time to transition from drills to full PTs.


Why Full Tests Matter

They build:

  • endurance

  • timing discipline

  • section-to-section focus

  • resilience


No amount of drilling replaces the pressure of a real test environment.


How Many To Take

For students aiming for a 170:


  • 20–25 full PTs is typical

  • Some students do 30–40

  • The key is not the number; it’s the quality of review
