Frequently asked questions
Most students improve 10–15 points with consistent, structured prep. Some see even larger jumps; especially if they haven’t studied before or if they’re finally getting targeted guidance that fixes long-standing weaknesses. Improvement depends on a few factors: how often you practice, how well you review, and how focused your study plan is.
With the HummingBird Ultimate plan, the timelines become realistic and predictable. Most students choose to spend about 3 months in the program, 2h per week for 15 sessions. That’s usually the ideal pace: long enough to build deep understanding, but fast enough to maintain momentum. Faster improvements are absolutely possible, but they require more commitment and more study hours per week.
If you’re currently scoring in the 150s, a 10-point increase over the length of the program is very achievable. You’ll build core skills, tighten fundamentals, and develop the habits that reliably move students into the 160s.
If you’re already in the 160s, getting into the 170s is also realistic with the HummingBird Ultimate plan. At that level, the focus shifts to eliminating small errors, mastering timing, and building consistency across sections.
While no tutor can guarantee a specific score, I can guarantee that you’ll learn the LSAT in a clearer, more structured way and avoid wasting time on methods that don’t move your score.
If you haven’t taken a recent PrepTest, I’ll assign one first so we can establish a baseline. Then I review your results to identify strengths, weaknesses, and timing issues. Based on that, I build a personalized lesson plan and study schedule tailored to your goals and availability.
Most students choose the HummingBird Ultimate program, which covers every section of the LSAT. We typically start with Logical Reasoning, then move to Reading Comprehension, and finish with the personalized test-taking tactics. You’ll receive all necessary study materials plus weekly homework.
Before each lesson, I grade and analyze your homework to track which question types you’re missing, which ones to prioritize, and where timing may be holding you back. Each session is then customized around those results to make sure we’re always targeting your highest-impact areas.
I also offer focused programs; Logical Reasoning Mastery and Reading Comp Mastery, for students who want intensive improvement in a single section. No matter the path, the entire program is built around your needs, data, and progress.
HummingBird is fully personalized; no generic curriculum, no pre-set sequence, and no one-size-fits-all lessons. Every student gets a custom study plan built from their PrepTest data, learning style, pace, and goals. Before each session, I analyze your homework, track your accuracy by question type, monitor timing issues, and adjust the program so we’re always targeting the areas that will move your score the fastest.
You’re also learning directly from the person who designed the curriculum and has taught hundreds of students, with an average improvement of 13.7 points (and even higher for students starting in the lower ranges). I don’t outsource anything; you get expert, consistent, high-quality instruction every lesson.
If you take the HummingBird Ultimate program or complete 30 hours of tutoring, I also support you through your law school application process.
Most importantly, sessions are non-intimidating, supportive, and built around your ideal pace of development. You’ll always know exactly what to study, why it matters, and how it connects to your score goals.
Honestly, everyone taking the LSAT can benefit. HummingBird tutoring is designed to meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re opening your first LSAT book or already scoring in the 160s and looking to break into the 170s.
If you’re just starting out or want a fully structured, all-inclusive plan, the HummingBird Ultimate package is the best fit. It covers every section of the LSAT, builds your skills from the ground up, and gives you a complete roadmap, study materials, graded homework, and personalized guidance every step of the way.
If you’re a more advanced test-taker, already familiar with the exam and looking to refine specific skills, you may prefer a flexible, targeted approach. We can focus on whatever you need most: tough LR question types, conditional or causal reasoning, Reading Comp strategy, pacing issues, or advanced timing systems.
Wherever you’re starting, I adapt to you. Personalized tutoring is built to help anyone improve, whether you need a full foundation or high-level refinement.

All tutoring is done live over Google Meet. Most students meet for at least two hours per week, and each session includes a mix of guided notes, problem drills, and clear explanations of LSAT fundamentals.
Your lessons are fully adaptive. During each session, I adjust the teaching in real time based on how you’re performing. After the session, I assign targeted homework, review your work before the next meeting, and then build a customized lesson plan based on your results—so every session directly addresses what you need most.
You’ll receive a PDF of the session notes, plus all assigned homework in PDF format. If you prefer, each session can also be recorded and sent to you so that you can review anytime.
Homework is always personalized, but as a general rule, I assign more rather than less. This ensures you have plenty of practice, room to challenge yourself, and optional extra work if you want to go further.
That said, the amount always adapts to your goals, your timeline, and what’s happening in your life. If you’re aiming for a big score jump or have a test date approaching, you may receive more targeted drills and timed sections. If you’re having a busier week or need to slow down, I’ll assign less and adjust the plan accordingly.
Every assignment is curated to your needs, and I review your work before each lesson to guide what we focus on next.
